Error Paper Jam - Blocked paper cutter
Depending on how intensively the ticket printer is used, the cutter can jam and cause a paper jam, which stops printing.
Fix it in three steps
- Switch the printer off, then on again. In most cases the cutter blade returns to its resting position on its own.
- If it does not, open the front cover. Lift it on both sides to release it.
- Turn the gear towards you until the blade is back in place, then close the cover and print a test ticket.
The notice printed on the cover
The printer carries a manufacturer notice in approximate English:
Note: when the cutter stuck not works properly, can be shut off the powr and then restart, cutting knife recoverable in situ, if cannot recover, then pull up on both sides of this cover, rotating gear to make back in place.
It describes exactly the three steps above.
Preventing jams
- Use rolls of the width configured for the printer,
58,80or104 mm - Do not pull on the paper while the cutter is running
- Clean the print head and the paper path regularly, see How to clean a thermal ticket printer
