QuickStart, set up your 80 mm cloud printer
Models: PP80EW, PP80EWG, XPDY80EWB, XPDY80EWBG
This guide takes an Expedy cloud printer from the box to its first printed ticket.
Depending on the connector or the point-of-sale software you use, the installation may be handled by your partner. Some integrations are configured entirely on their side, so check with them before you start.
1. Unbox and power on
- Take out the printer, its power supply and the sample paper roll
- Connect the power supply, then press the power switch on the side of the machine
- The POWER indicator lights up, see LED indicator lights
2. Load the paper roll
Open the cover, drop the roll in so the paper unwinds from underneath, pull a few centimetres out and close the cover until it clicks. Detail: Reloading the thermal paper roll
3. Print the test ticket
Hold the FEED button down while switching the printer on. It prints its test ticket, which carries the serial number starting with PRN. Keep that ticket, you need the number in step 5.
4. Connect the printer to the internet
| Connection | When to choose it | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Ethernet RJ45 | The most reliable, when a cable can reach the router | Ethernet cable |
| Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz | No cable available, 5 GHz is not supported | Wi-Fi setup |
| 4G SIM card | Guaranteed printing, no dependency on the local network | GPRS settings |
Whichever you choose, port 1883 must be open in both directions on the router, and whitelisting must be off. See Internet connection.
5. Add the printer to your Expedy account
Follow the guide matching your machine:
Each guide ends with the subscription step that lifts the FREE plan limit of 50 print requests per month.
